Cillian O’Neill

Chief Executive Officer

Cillian is a final year Business and Economics student serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Trinity Student Managed Fund for the 2023/24 session. He started as a Junior Analyst in the Healthcare sector, then becoming Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology Sector Manager in Second Year. He undertook an Erasmus Exchange at Università Bocconi in Milan. Cillian has completed an internship in the Private Clients and Sports Advisory Tax Unit in BDO Ireland and prior to final year, he worked as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst in Bank of America in London.

Emanuele Roncalli di Montorio-Veronese

Chief Investment Officer

Emanuele is a penultimate-year history student and is the Chief Investment Officer of the fund for 2023-2024. He previously held the role of Sector Manager in the Technology Hardware Sector. Emanuele was a finalist in the Davy Stock Pitching Competition 2022 and also competed in a team in the Rotman European Trading Competition. He has completed internships at BlackRock and Toscafund. Emanuele has a great passion for art, particularly contemporary art, and loves outdoor sports, having completed the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

Lisa O’Brien

Chief Operating Officer

Lisa is a third year Global Business student and is the Chief Operating Officer for the 2023/24 session. She has been involved with the SMF since her first year in college and previously held roles as a Junior Analyst in the Financial Non-Banks Sector and Senior Analyst in the Financial Non-Banks Sector during 2022/23. Lisa was selected to represent the Trinity SMF in the Rotman European Trading Competition. Additionally, she has completed Spring Weeks at Evercore and Perella Weinberg Partners. Throughout the academic year of 2022/23, Lisa played a significant role in the Dublin University Business and Economics Society, taking charge of organizing various events. Last Summer, she completed an internship at MCE Public Relations in Belfast. In her spare time, Lisa is an avid road runner, enjoys travelling and art.

Nathan Whitehead

Chief Financial Officer

Nathan is in his Final year studying BESS Business & Economics and is the Chief Financial Officer of the fund for the 2023/24 season. Nathan previously held the role of Chief Investment Officer, where he outperformed the fund’s benchmark. Prior to this, he was Sector Manager for the Technology Software Sector. He won the Davy x SMF Competition as an analyst in his Junior Fresh Year and recently was part of the CFA Research Challenge, where the team was one of two finalists. Last summer Nathan interned at Islandbridge Capital, after spending the previous summer interning in EY’s Strategy & Transaction division.

Kinda Otieno

Head of Communications

Kinda is a final year Business and Economics student and is taking on the role as Head of Communications for the 2023/2024 session. During 2022/2023, she held the role as Consumer Discretionary Sector Manager. She completed a summer internship working in the Philippines for a Utilities company as well as a spring internship at Blackrock. Outside of the fund, Kinda has a keen interest in film photography, fashion and swimming

Joseph McKeever

Chief Macroeconomist

Joseph is a final year Economics and Mathematics student and is the Chief Macroeconomist for the 2023/24 session. Joseph has previously held a role as a senior analyst in the Industrials sector. Joseph has undertaken spring week programmes in Bank of America, Credit Suisse, SIG and BNP Paribas. He has completed summer internships in the Classic Investment Banking division at Goldman Sachs and as an investment analyst at Torquay Capital. Joseph is also interested in reading and travelling.

Miguel Shetreet

Investment Officer and Head of Research

Miguel is a third-year student in the Global Business programme. He is an Investment Officer and the Head of Research of the fund for the 2023/24 season. In 2022/23, Miguel held the role of Industrials Sector Manager. He began his time in the SMF as an Analyst in the Real Estate sector. In addition to his duties as a Sector Manager and Analyst, Miguel produced multiple M&A reports for the fund. In the summer of 2022, Miguel worked at Charlesbank Capital Partners on their investor relations team. Before his experience there, he worked as a venture capital Summer Analyst at Glasswing Ventures on their investment team. Additionally, Miguel has experience at a local real estate company and also built a startup to combat food waste which received multiple globally-recognized awards. As of summer 2023, Miguel is working on the private equity investment team at the DigitalBridge Group. His hobbies include surfing, playing poker, and listening to podcasts.

Ashling Bourke

Investment Officer

Ashling is in her penultimate year studying Global Business and is an Investment Officer for the 2023/24 session. Ashling has been involved with the SMF since her first year at Trinity, having previously held roles as Sector Manager of Consumer Staples and Junior Analyst of the Financial Non-Banks and Trading sectors. Ashling has also been a finalist in the CFA Equity Research Challenge and the Davy Stock Pitching Competition. As of Summer 2023, Ashling is working as a Wealth & Investment Management Intern at Well Fargo in NYC. She has previously worked as a Banks Analyst and Summer Intern at Carraighill Capital and has completed a spring programme at Nomura. Ashling is also the Capitan of the Trinity Intervarsity Jazz Dance Team and enjoys running, reading and coffee.

Hugo O’Reilly

Investment Officer

Hugo O’Reilly is currently in his penultimate year at Trinity College and is studying BESS. Hugo will be an Investment Officer with the SMF this year. Previously he has been a Junior analyst and Sector Manager for the Transport and Industrial Sector. Hugo has been fortunate to intern with China Silver Asset Management, a Hong Kong-based assets manager. Additionally, this summer he will be working at Goldman Sachs as a Summer Analyst within their Investment Banking Division. Outside of the SMF and college, Hugo is passionate about sailing and he spent the summer of 2022 coaching sailing in Long Island, New York. Hugo also loves reading, particularly history and politics and he aspires one day to write a fictional thriller.

Kimberly Arab

Head of ESG, Diversity & Inclusion

Kimberly is a third year Joint Honours Economics and History student, and the current Head of ESG, Diversity and Inclusion. She has been active in the SMF since her first year at Trinity, where she was a Junior Analyst for the Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology sector, and later moved on to become a Macro Analyst in second year where she contributed to the SMF’s Longview Macro report with an article on the US Poverty Cycle. As an avid writer, Kimberly is also a part of the Philosophical Society’s Bram Stoker paper reading subcommittee. This summer, she will be working as a Research Assistant to an Economics professor. Outside of the SMF, Kimberly’s interests include music, baking and spending time with her pets.

Fergal O’Byrne

Head of Alternative Investments

Fergal is a final year Management Science and Information System Studies student and the Head of Alternative Investments for the 2023/24 session. Last year Fergal ran the cryptocurrency and digital assets side to the Alternatives and formerly was a Sector Analyst in the Financials Non-Bank and Communications. Previously he worked as a Sports Trader in Pointsbet and attended spring weeks at Amazon and Schroders. This summer he will be interning on the G10 Rates and FX Forwards Trading desk at JP Morgan London.

Emily Page

Head of Mentorship

Emily is a 4th year Business and Sociology (BESS) student and Head of Mentorship for the 2023/24 session. Within SMF, Emily previously held a Junior Analyst position for the Energy Sector and will be a Research Analyst for the 2023/24 session. Outside SMF, Emily was an analyst intern for RunRate Ventures LLC, a strategic firm that helps founders launch, scale and monetise new ventures. She held a Global Ambassador position for the cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, and currently works for a fem-tech startup, taking part in Tangent’s 2023 accelerator, Launchbox. She also participated in Tangent’s Women Who Wow Mentorship programme. For fun, Emily enjoys reading, podcasts, baking and travelling.

Meaghan Platt

Head of Women in Business

Meaghan is a third year Global Business student and is the Head of Women in Business for the 2023/2024 session. She has been involved in SMF since her first year in college as a Junior Analyst in the Financial Banks Sector and Sector Manager of the Financial Non-Banks Sector. She has competed a Spring Week at Bank of America in their GTS division. As of summer 2022, Meaghan will be working in the Financial Consulting Department of Ernst & Young. Her hobbies include singing, choir, playing the flute, coffee and travel.

Giorgia O’Driscoll

Deputy Head of Women in Business

Giorgia is a senior sophister Business, Economics and Social Studies student, pursuing a single honours degree in Business Studies. She is currently the Deputy Head of Women in Business for the SMF 2023/24 academic year. Giorgia’s previous SMF experience includes being a Junior Analyst in the Consumer Discretionary Sector and acting as a senior analyst in the consumer staples sector. To date, Giorgia has completed internships as both an investment banking summer analyst at Credit Agricole in Stockholm, and also in management consulting at KPMG. Giorgia’s hobbies and interests outside the SMF include travel, golf and animals.

Louis Mulcahy

Co-Head of Trading

Louis is a Final year Management Science and Information Systems Studies (MSISS) and Head of Quantitative Trading for the 2023/24 session. In the 2021/22 Session Louis held the role of Senior Analyst for the Technology Hardware Sector and represented TCD in the Rotman International Trading Competition, and during the 2022/23 session he worked on portfolio-risk analysis, in addition to active membership of the Macro and Quant sectors. Over the summer Louis completed a Quantitative Trading Internship with SIG, and in the past has worked with Irish Startup SQUID, and completed Springs with Citi and BP. Outside of work, Louis has strong interests in Rugby, literature and geopolitics.

David Cosgrave

Co-Head of Trading

David is a final year Business and Economics student, and is Co-Head of Trading for the 2023/24 session. David has been involved with the SMF since his first year in college and previously held the role of a sector manager in the Financial Non-Banks Sector. David has also represented Trinity SMF in the Roman International Trading Competition and competed in the CFA Research Challenge. David has completed spring weeks at Bank of America and Citi. He has completed a Summer internship at Davy and will be joining Bank of America in the Global Markets Division this Summer. David recently returned to Trinity from studying abroad at Sungkyunkwan University in South Korea. In his spare time, David enjoys Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Cricket & Golf.
