
Ciaran McKay
Co-Chief Executive OfficerCiaran is a final year Management Science and Information Systems Studies (MSISS) student and Co-Chief Executive Officer for the 2022/23 session. Ciaran previously held the role of Chief Investment Officer of the fund, and also sector manager of Healthcare. He has been part of the Trinity SMF team in the CFA Equity Research Challenge as well as representing the SMF on the winning team in the 2021 Credit Suisse Market Madness Challenge. Ciaran also took part in the BVP internship programme which gives SMF students an insight into venture capital. Last Summer he worked in Yew Grove REIT as an intern after securing the opportunity from the CFA Equity Research Challenge, he also completed a spring internship at RBC in 2021. His hobbies include hurling and football and is an avid reader of geopolitics.

Will O’Callaghan
Co-Chief Executive OfficerWill is a final year Management Science and Information Systems Studies (MSISS) student and Co-Chief Executive Officer of the Trinity SMF Podcast. During the 2020/21 session, Will started the Trinity SMF Podcast on which he interviews world leaders in finance and business such as Howard Marks, Alan Dargan and Alison Mass. In 2020/21, he held the role of Technology (Software) Sector Manager. He was a member of the winning teams in the Temasek Impact Investing Challenge and Credit Suisse Market Madness Stock Pitch Challenge. He was part of the Trinity College team that participated in the CFA Equity Research Challenge and Rotman International Trading Competition. Will has completed internships in the Technology Investment Banking team at Morgan Stanley and the Long/Short Equity team at the hedge fund Marshall Wace. Will is also interested in rugby, tennis, coffee and travel.

Nathan Whitehead
Chief Investment OfficerNathan is in his penultimate year studying BESS Business & Economics and is the Chief Investment Officer of the fund for the 2022/23 season. Nathan previously held the role of Sector Manager for the Technology Software Sector. He won the Davy x SMF Competition as an analyst in his Junior Fresh Year and recently was part of the CFA Research Challenge, where the team was one of two finalists. Last summer Nathan interned at EY as part of the Transaction Advisory team. He has a keen interest in Formula One, coffee and travelling.

Aoife Mullan
Chief Operating OfficerAoife is a final year Global Business student and is the Chief Operating Officer for the 2022/23 session. She has been involved with the SMF since her first year in college and previously held roles as a Junior Analyst in the Consumer Staples Sector and a Senior Analyst in the Transport & Industrials Sector. During 2021/22, Aoife was the SMF’s Public Relations Officer and was responsible for promoting the fund’s activities amongst members. Aoife has completed a summer internship in KPMG’s Corporate Finance department and, in the summer prior to final year, she worked as a Business Analyst Intern in McKinsey & Company, where she also completed a spring programme in her second year. In her free time, her interests include swimming, baking and playing the piano.

Jack Connolly
Chief Financial OfficerJack is the Fund’s Chief Financial Officer for the 2022/23 session. He is currently a Senior Sophister Global Business student. Jack has been involved with the Trinity SMF since his Junior Freshman year, having previously held roles as a Junior Analyst in both the Energy and Financial Banks sectors. Jack has completed internships in KPMG’s Transaction Services department, and at Madison International Realty, LLC. His interests outside of the Fund extend to sport, travelling, coffee and socialising.

Maresa Ronan
SecretaryMaresa is a final year Business and Economics (BESS) student and is Secretary for the 2022/23 session. Maresa has been heavily involved with the SMF since her first year at TCD, previously holding the roles of Deputy Head of Women in Business, Consumer Discretionary Senior Analyst, Macro Analyst and Consumer Discretionary Junior Analyst. Maresa was also apart of the SMF Mentorship programme in 2022. Over the summer, she completed her internship at PIMCO in London.

Emily Woods
Chief MacroeconomistEmily is a Final Year Management Science and Information System Studies student and is the Chief Macroeconomist for the 2022/23 session. She has been involved in the fund since First Year and was the Energy Sector Manager for 2021/22. Emily has completed an internship with Citi in their Investment Banking division, Deloitte in their Consulting division, as well as a spring internship with Citi in their Technology division. In her spare time Emily enjoys reading, travelling and music.

Isobel Forde
Head of TradingIsobel is a Senior Sophister MSISS student who will serve as the Head of Trading for the 2022/23 session. In 2021/22, she held the position of Senior Analyst of the Financial Banks Sector for the fund, and represented Trinity College at the Rotman International Trading Competition. This summer, she is joining Morgan Stanley as a summer analyst in the Sales & Trading department. She has also completed spring week programmes with Citibank and SIG. In her free time, Isobel has a keen interest in travelling and has travelled to some places such as Guatemala, Thailand and South Africa. She is eager to continue exploring other countries and cultures after graduation.

Jane Hayes Nally
Head of Alternative InvestmentsJane is a final year student of Philosophy Politics Economics and Sociology (PPES). In secondary school Jane represented the Irish state at the Council of Europe at their conventions in Sofia and Istanbul and the European Commission in Brussels. Enjoying the investment industry for its robust analytical nature, Jane first joined the SMF Trading Sector where she published her thesis to short the Turkish Lira in September 2020. Jane has been part of the winning teams for both the Credit Suisse Market Madness Stock Pitching Competition in the US, and the Temasek Impact Investing Challenge in the U.K. She also served as SMF Banks SM and the SMF Head of Mentorship in 2021-22. Her experience in university ranges from working as a research analyst in Trinity building a housing price index under Dr. Ronan Lyons, to brokering foreign investment in the United Kingdom with InvestUK, in Mayfair. As of summer 2022 Jane is working in the Investment Banking Division of Deutsche Bank in London. Jane’s interests include the democratisation and sustainability of alternative assets.

Zara Finn
Head of Women in Business GroupZara is a final year BESS student and is the Head of Women in Business for the 2022/2023 season. Before this role, Zara was involved in the Macroeconomic Team and a Junior Analyst in the Basic Sector. With an interest and focus on Diversity and Inclusion under the umbrella of ESG, Zara began working with Treasury Solutions and the Treasury Hub to advise clients in ESG – creating company policy etc. In addition, Zara has completed internships at HSBC and KPMG. Her interests include rowing, reading and playing music

Lucy Skelton
Head of Women in Business ConferenceLucy is a senior sophister Business, Economics and Social Studies student, majoring in Business Studies and minoring in Politics at Trinity College Dublin. She is currently the Head of Women in Business for the SMF 2022/23 academic year. Lucy has previously been involved with the operations side as the Deputy Head of Mentorship and the fund side as a junior analyst for the Financial Banks sector. Throughout the summer Lucy interned with the Washington Ireland Program, graduating with the Class of 2022. Outside of the SMF, Lucy has a keen interest in baking, reading, travelling and playing volleyball.

Fiona Brogan
Public Relations OfficerFiona is a final year Management Science Information System Studies (MSISS) student and is Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the 2022/23 session. Fiona has previously held the role of Consumer Discretionary Sector manager for the 2021/22 session and Healthcare and Trading analyst for the 2020/21 session. Fiona has completed a summer internship in JP Morgan’s Asset Management division with the Emerging Market Equity research team as well as a spring internship in Citi’s technology division.

Jack Cleary
Chief Technology OfficerJack is a Final Year Management Science and Information Systems Studies student, and is currently the funds Chief Technology Officer. Jack previously held the role of Consumer Discretionary Senior Analyst in 2021, and was also a Junior Analyst in the Technology Software Sector in 2020. Jack has completed internships with AIB and Davy Stockbrokers in the past. Jack has a keen passion for technology and its role within the world of finance, and has particular interest in app and web development. Outside of the SMF, Jack loves all things sports. He is an avid Gaelic Football player and golfer, and also enjoys playing the guitar and piano.

Patrick Duffy
Head of ESGPatrick is a Masters in Mechanical Engineering student and the current Head of ESG for Student Managed Fund. Previously, he held a junior analyst position in the Technology (Hardware) sector in 2020 and 2021. Patrick has held a strategy consulting role in Arup since the summer of 2021. He has continued to work with them throughout the academic year on sustainable transport and infrastructure projects. Patrick hopes to bring his interest and experience in ESG to this role and the broader fund. Outside of the SMF, Patrick enjoys playing cricket, golf, as well as guitar and piano.

Olwyn Patterson
Head of MentorshipOlwyn is a 3rd year Management Science and Information Systems Studies student. Olwyn held the inaugural Head of ESG and Social Responsibility position for the 2021/2022 session where she established the Student Managed Fund’s shareholder activism effort. Her presence at Flutter Entertainment’s AGM resulted in 2 news article features. She was previously a Junior Analyst and Senior Analyst in the Industrials and Healthcare Non-Pharma Sectors. Olwyn is also active in the entrepreneur space, having taken part in LaunchBox, Tangent’s accelerator programme. She also interned in the Credit Department of Dell Financial Services as a Data Analyst. Outside of finance, Olwyn has an interest in dance, theatre and advocating for women in STEM.

Chloe Griffin
Publications OfficerChloe is a final year Modern Languages (Irish and French) student and Publications Officer for the year 2022/23. Chloe has been involved with the SMF since first year holding positions as junior analyst in the financial banks sector and as a member of the macro team. Chloe has a keen interest in marketing, particularly in tech and has completed an internship in DocuSigns Content Marketing department. Outside of the SMF Chloe is a member of the Cumann Gaelach society committee and is the current Cisteoir (Treasurer).

Kristian Robertson
Head of ResearchKristian is a rising senior global business student at Trinity College Dublin. Kristian is a member of the Trinity Student Managed Fund. He is currently the Head of Research after previously holding the role of Sector Manager and founder of M&A Research Reports within the fund. He also represented Trinity College Dublin in the Global CFA Corporate Challenge, where him and his team placed second in Ireland. During his sophomore year, Kristian worked at Credit Suisse in their Global Industrials Group. This summer, Kristian will be joining Credit Suisse’s Financial Sponsors team in their New York Office. Away from studies, Kristian is an avid soccer fan, both watching and playing; he also enjoys swimming, basketball and going to the gym.

Anna Schwer
Investment OfficerAnna is a final year Management Science and Information Systems Studies (MSISS) student and is an Investment Officer for the 2022/23 session. She has previously held the role of Consumer Staples Sector Manager in 2021/22 . Anna represented Trinity College in the CFA Equity Research Challenge. Last summer, Anna completed an internship in the Investment division in Blackrock with the Multi-Asset Strategies Solutions team as well as a spring internship in Bank of America. Anna is also interested in tennis, coffee and travel.

Maximus McKeever
Investment OfficerMaximus is a penultimate year Management Science and Information Systems Studies (MSISS) student and Investment Officer for the 2022/23 session. He has been involved with the SMF since his first year at university, having previously held roles as Junior Analyst for Consumer Staples and Sector Manager of Utilities. Maximus has completed internships with Arthur Cox, Carraighill and Vodafone and spring weeks with Deutsche Bank, Bank of America, RBC, Pimco, SIG and McKinsey.
