Ashling Bourke

Chief Executive Officer

Ashling is in her final year studying Global Business serving as the Chief Executive Officer for the 2024/25 session. Ashling has been involved with the SMF since her first year at Trinity, having previously held roles as Investment Officer, Sector Manager of Consumer Staples and Junior Analyst of the Financial Non-Banks and Trading sectors. Ashling has also been a finalist in the CFA Equity Research Challenge and the Davy Stock Pitching Competition. Prior to her final year, Ashling worked as a Credit Investments Intern at PSP Investments. She has previously completed internships in the Wealth & Investment Management Division at Wells Fargo in NYC, and as a Banks Analyst and Summer Intern at Carraighill Capital. Ashling enjoys running, dancing, reading and art.

Chief Financial Officer

Jack is a final year Management Science and Information Systems Studies student and is the fund’s Chief Financial Officer for the 2024/25 session. Jack joined the fund as an analyst in the Materials sector before holding the role of Sector Manager for the sector. As of Summer 2024, Jack is working at Rothschild & Co. Previously, Jack interned as a Software Engineer in Global Payments and in the strategy division at Indeed. In his spare time, Jack likes to read, run and is trying to take up golf!

Ciara Fox

Head of Communications

Ciara is in her final year at Trinity, studying Global Business and is the Head of Communications for the 2024/2025 session. She has been involved with the SMF since her first year in Trinity as a Junior Analyst in the Consumer Staples sector. As a Junior Analyst, she won the Davy Pitching Competition and went on to complete a summer internship at Islandbridge. In her second year she was Sector Manager of the Technology (Software) sector. She has just returned from studying abroad at Babson College in the United States and will be spending her summer in London, as an Intern at OC&C Strategy Consultants. In her spare time, Ciara enjoys reading, playing piano and travelling.

David Flynn

Public Relations Officer

David is in his third year of Electronic Engineering and is the Public Relations Officer for the 2024/2025 session. He has previously held the role of Junior Analyst for Consumer Staples and will take the role of Senior Analyst for Tech Hardware alongside Public Relations Officer for this session. Last year, he made it to the final of the Inter-sector Pitching Competition, pitching BYD along with his sector colleagues. In his spare time, David enjoys travel, fashion and cooking.

Ethan Coplan

Chief Macroeconomist

Ethan is a third year Civil Engineering student and Head of the Macro Sector for the 2024/2025 session. He has been involved with the SMF since his first year at Trinity as an Analyst before becoming an Analyst in the Macro Sector during his second year. During his tenure as an Analyst he completed research for stock pitches and brought in a Senior Investment Writer at JP Morgan as a speaker. Outside of the SMF, Ethan is a Secretary of the Dublin University Boat Club, and a Sports Scholar for Rowing. Ethan has worked with DEIS schools through the Trinity Access Program as a program leader. He will also be spending the summer of 2024 as an Intern for the Capital Projects Department of the City of New York.

Ciaran Ryan

Deputy Chief Macroeconomist

Ciaran is a 3rd year Management Science and Information Systems Studies student and is serving as the Deputy Chief Macroeconomist for the 2024/2025 session. Ciaran joined the fund in 2022 as a junior analyst within the technology software sector, and has since held roles within the trading, macro and research teams. Ciaran spent the past summer working in private equity as an intern at Torquay Capital and also completed a discovery program at SIG. Ciaran’s hobbies include cooking and travelling. 

Melis Asiyo Sarfati

Head of ESG, DE&I

Melis is a 3rd year student studying Business & Economics and is the current Head of ESG, Diversity & Inclusion. She started as a Junior Analyst in the Real Estate Sector during her Junior Fresh year and took on the Sector Manager role for the sector in the following year. In her second year she completed the Lazard Spring Insight Programme and was a part of the CFA Equity Research Team which represented Trinity, placing 2nd in Ireland. She went on to be an Intern at TowerBrook Capital Partners that summer in London. Additionally, she has previously worked in a Singaporean Startup focusing on circular economy over two summers. Her interests include Muay Thai, painting, travelling, and music.

Sara Hippmann

Co-Head of Trading - Quantitative Trading

Sara is a final year Mathematics and Economics student serving as Head of Quantitative Trading for the 2024/25 session. She previously held roles in the SMF as an Analyst in the Financials (Banks) sector and as a member of the Quant Trading sector. Sara has interned in Financial Technologies at Fidelity International and completed a Quant Research programme at JP Morgan. She has also completed two internships as a quant trader at Virtu Financial. Outside the fund, Sara enjoys running, going to the gym and reading.

Darragh Timmons

Co-Head of Trading - Investment Banking

Darragh is in his final year studying Global Business and will serve as the Head of IB Trading for the SMF during the 2024/25 session. He has previously held positions as a Junior Analyst and Senior Analyst in the Utilities and Basic Materials sectors. Following a Spring Week at Morgan Stanley in March 2023, he will return as a Summer Analyst in their Sales & Trading Division in summer 2024. Darragh also gained experience at PKF, completing a summer internship in their Advisory & Restructuring Department. Additionally, he is the club captain of the Trinity Men’s Soccer team, where he holds a sports scholarship having also previously held one for basketball.

Amy McGrath

Co-Head of Women in Business

Amy is in her final year studying Business and Economics, and is Co-Head of Trinity SMF’s Women in Business division, alongside Keave Daly, for the 2024/2025 session. Amy has been involved with the SMF throughout her years in Trinity, previously holding roles of Senior Analyst of the Consumer Staples sector and Junior Analyst of the Communications sector. Outside of the SMF, Amy is passionate about music, working as a music tutor and pianist in her spare time.

Keave Daly

Co-Head Women in Business

Keave is in her final year studying BESS, pursuing a joint honours degree in business and economics. For the 2024/2025 session Keave will be acting as Co-head of Trinity SMF’s Women In Business division alongside Amy McGrath. As a member of the SMF since first year, Keave has held various roles including Sector Manager of Energy & Utilities and Junior Analyst of Financial Non-Banks. Keave has previously completed an internship at Setanta Asset Management as an equity analyst. She is also a member of Dublin University Business and Economics Society. Outside of the fund, Keave has a keen interest in films and travelling.

Hugo O’Reilly

Head of Alternative Investments

Hugo is currently in his penultimate year at Trinity College and is studying Business, Economics and Social Studies. Hugo will be Head of Alternative Investments with the SMF this year. Previously he has been a Junior Analyst and Sector Manager for the Transport and Industrial Sector. Hugo has been fortunate to intern with China Silver Asset Management, a Hong Kong-based assets manager. Additionally, Hugo was a Summer Analyst at Goldman Sachs within their Investment Banking Division. Outside of the SMF and college, Hugo is passionate about sailing and he spent the summer of 2022 coaching sailing in Long Island, New York. Hugo also loves reading, particularly history and politics and he aspires one day to write a thriller.

Ben Power

Deputy Head of Alternative Investments

Ben is a third year Business and Economics student and is the Deputy Head of Alternative Investments for the fund for 2024-2025. He joined the society in his first year as a Junior Analyst in the Industrials sector and in second year became a Sector Manager for Industrials. This summer, he will be working at Setanta Asset Management as an Equity Research Intern. Outside of the fund, Ben is involved in many other societies in the college, including Trinity GAA club and DUBES. In his spare time, his interests include playing hurling & football, going to the gym, listening to podcasts, and reading.

Jonathan Lowe

Head of Research

Jonathan is a third-year Joint Honours Economics and Mathematics student and is Head of Research for the 2024/2025 session. He has previously held the roles of Senior Research Analyst on the Research team and Junior Analyst in the Software sector. Jonathan has completed spring weeks at Lazard, BNP Paribas, and Morgan Stanley. He loves travelling and spent last summer working in the South of France, before travelling Europe and this summer he will be working in Long Island. He also loves rugby and sailing.

Joey Qu

Deputy Head of Research

Joey is a third-year Business and Economics student and is the Deputy Head of Research for the 2024/25 season. He has been active in the SMF since his first year at Trinity, having previously held roles as Research Analyst, Macro Analyst, and Junior Analyst in the Financial Banks sector. This year, Joey worked at Torquay Capital as a Private Equity Analyst. Prior to this, he was a Summer Analyst in the Investment Management Division at BNY Mellon. As of summer 2024, he is part of the Private Equity Investment team at InfraBridge. His hobbies include table tennis, football, and running.

Anna Colgan

Head of Mentorship

Anna is a final year Law & Business student and is the Head of Mentorship for the 2024/25 session. Within the SMF, Anna previously held a Junior Analyst position for the Communications Sector alongside being part of the Trading and Macro sectors. As of summer 2024, Anna is interning on the private equity investment team at Erisbeg. She has previously completed a tax internship at Deloitte LLP. Outside of the SMF, Anna enjoys running, reading and baking.

Emanuele Roncalli di Montorio-Veronese

Podcast Host

Emanuele is a final-year history student and the current podcast host, as well as the former Chief Investment Officer of the Trinity Student Managed Fund, where he achieved a 31% return and 2% alpha—the highest return and outperformance in the fund’s history. He has interned at BlackRock, Tosca Fund, and Bank of America, where he will be returning after graduation. Emanuele has a keen interest in art, ancient history, and tennis.

Áine Sadlier

Investment Officer

Áine is a final year Management Science and Information Systems Studies student and is an Investment Officer for the 2024/25 session. Áine previously held the roles of Junior Analyst and Sector Manager for the Industrials sector. In 2023, she won the Davy SMF Stock Pitching Competition and subsequently completed a summer internship in the Private Clients division at Davy Group. As of summer 2024, Áine is working as a Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions summer intern at BlackRock in London.

Lara Wolf

Investment Officer

Lara is a final year Law and Business student and is an Investment Officer for the 2024/2025 session. She initially joined the SMF as a Junior Analyst in the Real Estate Sector and co-authored various reports as a Senior Research Analyst on her year abroad at UNSW. Last summer, she interned at Arthur Cox and A&L Goodbody in the Competition and Property Departments. Lara is also Treasurer of the Trinity Entrepreneurial Society, loves travel and plays bass.

Nazar Batkiv

Investment Officer

Nazar is a penultimate year student in Management Science and Information Systems Studies, serving as an Investment Officer for the 2024/25 session. Previously, he held positions as a Junior Analyst and Senior Analyst in the Technology Hardware sector. Nazar was a finalist in the Davy Stock Pitching competition and participated in the Oxford Alpha Fund Varsity Pitching competition. Additionally, he completed a Spring Insight programme at SIG. As of summer 2024, Nazar works as a personal assistant to a general partner at Stratminds VC. His hobbies include pool, football, and geopolitics.
