The Rotman x Trinity SMF Trading Competition, held annually in November, brings together students from Ireland and the U.K. for a one-day simulated market challenge. Co-hosted by the Rotman School of Management’s BMO Financial Group Finance Research and the Trinity Student Managed Fund, the event offers participants hands-on experience in real-time trading scenarios.

Since its launch in 2023, the competition has grown significantly, with the 2024 edition hosting over 100 teams from top universities across Ireland and the U.K. Participants compete in two dynamic trading simulations, network with peers and sponsors, and vie for cash prizes. The first-place team also earns free entry to the Global Rotman Trading Competition in Toronto, Canada.
