2021 Team - Irish Finalists
The 2021 team included Nathan Whitehead, Anna Schwer, Emma McLoughlin, Kristian Robertson & David Cosgrave presented a case to buy Kingspan.
We’d also like to thank their academic mentor, Martha O’Hagan-Luff, and industry mentor, David Byrne, for all their hard work preparing the team.
2020 Team
The 2020 team created a compelling case to buy First Derivative.
2019 Team
Team included Aaron O’Neill, Elizabeth Bolger, Mark Slattery, Emma-Louise Ruane, and Andrew Johnson who created a compelling case to buy Dalata Hotel Group PLC.
2018 Team
Team included Dina Abu-Rahmeh, Himanshu Chauhan, Jack Collins, Ross Geissel, and Liam Landy who created a compelling case to buy CRH.
2017 Team
The 2017 team created a compelling case to buy Hibernia REIT.
2016 Team - Irish Winner
The 2016 team created a compelling case to buy CPL Resources. They represented the Irish CFA Charter in the EMEA Finals in Chicago, IL.
2014 Team
The 2014 team created a compelling case to buy Kingspan.
Rotman International Trading Competition
Each year, the Trinity SMF competitively selects six students to represent the university at the Rotman International Trading Competition in Toronto. This highly prestigious competition provides students with an opportunity to make real-time trading decisions, manage risk and interact with other market participants.
Competitors compete in a variety of technical cases across different asset classes, including options trading, commodities trading and an open outcry case. The competition gives competitors the confidence to compete on a world stage against fellow students from around the globe. It is an unrivalled insight into the role of a trader on the financial exchanges.
2023 Team
The SMF team placed 16th out of 45 top global universities.
2020 Team
The SMF team placed 23rd out of 45 top global universities, and 13th overall in the commodity case.
